Amazing Edibles is a well-established catering company in the heart of Chicago, with over 30 years of experience in the catering industry. We are looking for a dedicated and responsible dishwasher to join our team and contribute to the success of our catering events. Job Summary: As a Dishwasher at Amazing Edibles you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen and office operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitized promptly, allowing our culinary team to deliver exceptional food and service to our clients. Thid job will start part time and grow as we approach busy season. Generally 4-6 days a week, 4-6 hours a day. The more flexible and the harder worked you are, the more opprtunties there will be. Mostly Monday - Saturday 9-1/3 p.m. Key Responsibilities: Dishwashing and Sanitization: -Handwash to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans. - Ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards. - Handle and store clean dishes and utensils appropriately. Kitchen Maintenance: - Assist with general kitchen maintenance, including cleaning countertops, stoves, ovens, and other equipment. - Empty trash bins, remove boxes and recycling and maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace. - Notify the kitchen manager or chef of any equipment issues or maintenance needs. Sweep and Mop the kitchen daily, the rest of the space weekly, Maintain claenliness of bathrooms once weekly. Team Collaboration: - Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth flow of dishes and utensils during peak service times. - Assist in food preparation tasks as needed during busy periods. Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations: - Adhere to all city of Chicago and state of Illinois employment laws and health code regulations. - Follow proper food safety and hygiene practices to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a safe working environment. Problem Solving: - Proactively identify and address any issues related to dishwashing or kitchen cleanliness. - Communicate any challenges or equipment malfunctions to the kitchen manager. Qualifications: - Previous experience as a dishwasher in a catering, or food service setting is preferred. - Knowledge of proper dishwashing and sanitization techniques. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene. - Excellent teamwork and communication skills. - Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed. - Willingness to learn and adapt to different kitchen procedures. Working Conditions: - This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. - You may be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, as well as potentially wet and slippery surfaces. - Weekend and evening availability may be required, as catering events often occur outside of regular business hours.
